- Daylight savings time is awesome and very deceiving. My goal for the longest time has been to ‘wake up early’ and get more things done. The ‘wake up early part’ isn’t really working out. And ‘getting more things done’ ends up always being the same amount. There is just no way to cheat the system. I naively thought that with the time change, as I do every year, that I’d just get up an hour early. Yes, this plan might actually work! But it didn’t. My body just got tired an hour later, and I woke up same time as I always do… Boo to that!
- Do persimmons fit into a random Wednesday category? Even if they don’t, they do now! It’s finally a persimmon (try saying that word 5 times over!) season, and I just love them. Sweet, juicy, orange ones that make a huge mess, every time I try to scale one. But this one was different. We’ve met at a grocery store, and he said “pick me, I’m on sale” so into the basket he went. I waited for him, touched him everyday to see if he is ripe, and the day came when he looked soft and delicious. Hmmm, this is turning into a Harlequin novel… Anyways, so I cut this ‘heart shaped’ persimmon up, and tried it, only to have my whole mouth and throat close up on me! It was so horribly astringent that it took me a good hour to get over it! Oh, those conniving persimmons! I’m through with you and your ‘heart shaped’ buddies that are still in a bag.
- This week is short on random things. Nothing really happened, other than Halloween. Which I successfully ignored by not dressing up and watching Vampire’s Assistant. It was a nice, peaceful, bloodless affair.
