“Workshop with Jasmine Star” you say? Well, that got my attention, so much that I made my very first video. I even got a Vimeo account! Look ma, I’m all grown up! This is my entry for the workshop in Seattle. It’s so dorky that I couldn’t NOT post it here! You’d think one minute video would be easy to make. Nooo, it’s not! Good thing I didn’t forget my name cause that could have happened! Watch the Outtakes cause they are for the history books!

I want to chill with Jasmine Star! from Katia Trudeau on Vimeo.

Here is what I’ve learned from this:

  1. I am a horrible actress! I’m so bad, that if you’ll open the dictionary you’ll find, well, a definition of the word ‘bad’ in there, and will think of me… acting! On a plus side, I can talk into the camera for hours.
  2. I don’t mind being a complete dork in the video. I think years of being a ‘class entertainer’ (I bet that was in my job description too) in the Japanese school worked ‘wonders’ for my public speaking!
  3. I want to make more videos! They are contagious, even in the cheesy iMovie format they are fun. Get ready for me chatting about nothing, cause now I’m ‘armed and dangerous’ with iMovie skills!
  4. I really want to go to Seattle for Jasmine Star’s workshop! I watched that girl blog and photograph her way to success from the time she was on the Blogspot. If that’s not some amazing stalking skills, I don’t know what is! Maybe I was just too bored and wanting to learn everything while working in the above mentioned school!
  5. I want to meet Chase Jarvis again! Remember when I did my “Oh Eeem Geee, I went to Chase’s talk” blog post? Well, Chase is working with Creative Live to bring free education online, which is an amazing idea! I’ve already spent three days watching Zack Arias creating magic with off camera lighting. I even did p90x in front of the computer cause I wouldn’t dare to leave the room. The past weekend David duChemin was talking about creative vision, which was great. Yes, that’s how I spend my weekends… in front of the computer… learning things. This time around I want to be there, watching everything as it happens and not over the internet!

Anyways, fingers crossed, this dork might go to Seattle and learn new things from some very creative people!
