Design Love – Take II

Monday, April 18th, 2011

After blogging for some time now, I start to notice how repetitive I can be with my titles and what I write about. After completing a new blog post about the latest interior design project, I went back to see what was written the first time around. Surprise, surprise! Exactly the same entry title, and all about how much I love good design, glass, wallpapers, mirrors, antiques and colour, which I do. But this makes me so ‘cool’ it hurts! A new line just appeared on my ‘To Do” list – READ BOOKS ON WRITING!

I was fortunate enough to work with Sharon from Sharon Kelly Interiors once again. This time around we were photographing her latest projects for a portfolio update. I’m always impressed by how well Sharon pulls together the whole look of a place with colours, flooring, furniture pieces, area rugs, light fixtures, and even the smallest design elements, like door knobs. This girl can make any space look incredible all while being considerate of client’s personal style and taste! Here are few pages that we’ve made that will be printed in a large 11″x14″ format. Enjoy.

Today I [heart] – The Farm

Monday, January 25th, 2010

I have a mini fascination with farms and life on a country side. I’d like to imagine that it’s a very relaxed, slow pace lifestyle without cell phones, internet, traffic, and general craziness of the city. Although, I’d be unable to survive on a farm without the internet… So, I’m imagining my farm with the internet! While I’m getting more into whole foods, organics, and watching all the chemicals consumed with food, farms come up more often. I’m turning into a modern day ‘hippie wanna-be’ and supporting local farmers and their hard work to produce good food! I think there are significant changes on the horizon from mass produced, tasteless, chemical filled greens and meats to healthier, better quietly ones. Come on Canada, you can do it! The inspiration for this post came from books on food, documentaries, and a new season of Project Runway : ). Potato sack cocktail dress anyone?

Today I [heart] – Newspaper Print

Monday, January 4th, 2010

To start off the year fresh, I thought that recycled newspaper projects seem like a good idea. You know, make something new out of old? I adore the prints being made on the newspaper backgrounds. Very original and are always fun! Found a myriad of other interesting pieces that are sure to be conversation starters. Apparently designers still use newspaper print as inspiration and you can have that tote bag for $400. Go figure!

Today I [heart] – Fresh Green

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I must admit I have a mini obsession with plants. I just love them; their pretty, delicate leaves, fresh colour, and general cheerful look about them. When everything is snowy and white – more like grey and salty – I can’t help but to [heart] them even more. One can never have enough plants, not even when they take over the whole house, and overflow onto the balcony in the summer. When I grow up, I’m having a green house attached to the shoe box I’ll be living in! Hey, at least I’ll always have enough oxygen!

Today I [heart] – Clean Design

Monday, November 30th, 2009

I have a weakness for well designed, beautiful things. Today is no exception: white, clean lines, simple and gorgeous. I really want that lamp, it can ‘melt’ perfectly into my dark table. Those hangers with cityscapes are pretty cool too!
