- The New Year, as always, rolls in fast, maybe even too soon, and puts me in a weird state of mind. The calendar says that it’s here, I know that it’s here, everyone’s been gearing up for it, but to actually say “Hey it’s 2010” feels very odd. January always takes some getting used too. And the whole talk about ‘resolutions’, oh please! No one ever sticks to them! I’ve heard all the regular ones on the news: “Get fit – go to the gym”, “eat healthier”, “less stress”. I want to see a person who says “I’ll live in Antarctica for half a year, create incredible things and do some research.”, “I’ll design and build my own energy efficient house, here is the plan.”, or “I’ll bike from Yukon to Mexico and document the journey.”. Whatever happened to ambitious, well thought out resolutions and goals that people get excited about? Something to inspire yourself and others, something that you can say you’ve done and be proud of? Even if it doesn’t work out in the end, you’ll be so much happier that you’ve tried. I don’t make cheesy New Year resolutions, I make goals; ambitions, crazy, but well thought out goals. Here is to flying… or crashing… either or really.
- As of late I’ve been dancing around the house to Pirate Radio hits. Pretty sure that I’m 40, make that 50 (!!!) years too late. Yes, I’ve seen the movie, but to consider myself a groupie is absurd, right? I mean, I’ve heard all those songs before, they just never came in a nice pre-mixed 4CD package! All the fun, booty-shaking goodness playing out of Mac’s speakers makes me happy! Actually, “Empire State of Mind” screeching from a broken stereo (circa 1990 – requires a metal bottle as antenna) during volleyball last night made me dance too. Right there, on the court, with a ball flying like a well aimed projectile… I DANCED! What a perfect team player I am! Want me on your team, CALL TODAY!
- And for a spark of winter in all it’s glory here is the scene from my window this morning! How gorgeous is that?!? It’s just like ‘ink blotches’ therapy… what do you see???
