The ever most adorable Vivian came for a visit to take some photos and Oh. Em. G. Was she ever cute! We had a blast doing silly things and documenting them. Here are a few photos to start! More coming later…

Thanks, Viv! You’re awesome!

“Make me a vampire,” she said. Ummm, well okay… A ‘vegetarian’ vampire with liquid honey eyes, vs. a regular ‘carnivore’ one; it’s a battle of Vanessa vs. Vanessa. I’m not into the whole vampire thing, but since everyone seem to be following one show/movie/book or another and Halloween is approaching, why not make her a vampire? Also a few more head shots and ‘outside in the cold’ photos. Enjoy : ).

good vampire

not so good vampire : )
She pulled into a drive way dressed like a cute tiny supermodel all ready for days work. Bags with outfits, jewelry box, car keys, iphone, mac, all like it should be. This time around she needed head shots for her movie portfolio and that’s exactly what we did for the first 10 min. Well, it can’t be work all the time, or at least not boring head shot-y work, and not with Vanessa. She is a natural in front of the camera, lens loves her, and I can’t take a bad photo of her even if I tried. These are a few fun photos. The actual head shots and our venture outdoors (in the cold) photos will come later.

I love these ‘grrr’ and ‘cousin IT’ photos : ).
It’s practically impossible to get me out of the house on a cold day. One has to possess a talent of ripping a blanket out of my hands, supplying copious amounts of hot tea, and giving me a good incentive to actually be out. Last week such incentive was supplied by a single phrase of “taking photos”! Photos you say, well I’ll be there faster than you can finish that sentence. Day turned out to be warm-ish and sunny, automatically putting me in a good mood. I took my lensbaby out to play, and got some funky photos. I mainly went for ‘colours of autumn’ photos which will appear on Trains to Mars… but i couldn’t resist taking a few photos of gorgeous models. Gotta love spontaneous photoshoots!!!

Beautiful dresses, tiaras, finding prince charming in a frog was never my thing growing up. I was far more interested in building snow forts, playing with lego-wanna-be pieces, measuring puddles in my rain boots, running around with a ball, and general mischievous things that the boys did. Fairy tales were in a far away land where other girls lived, and I was not part of that club, somehow I never got the invite. I watched with fascination all the tea parties and dress ups; little ladies prancing around in their mother’s shoes, and saying things like “How do you do? Would you care for a biscuit?” I’m still a tomboy at heart but my interest in girly things never really went away either. So when a beautiful girl, named Vanessa, mentioned that she’d love to take photos in a forest, I asked if she’d like to play a princess. She even had the perfect dress for the occasion. I brought a toy lens and we ventured into the woods… it took about five seconds for a storm of mosquitoes to find us. All the tulle in Vanessa’s dress created a huge problem for them, so the girl with the camera ended up being their dinner. Oh well, next time I’ll bathe in bug repellant. By the way, Vanessa is running for Miss Latina Canada this year, so give her some love here, and if you’re in town (Markham) come watch the event on August 28th.

Just a little sneak peek on what’s coming up.
