Today I [Heart] – Fuchsia and Gold

With all the Holiday parties, thought that a girl could use some colour and bling to brighten up these grey, snowy days. This one is for Hanna, she mentioned how she loves fuchsia and gold combinations, so I did my version of it. It’s way too many accessories for a single occasion, so I’d either go with the 7,4,11 or 10,2,8,5 combo. Can’t say that I have anything this bold in my closet, but who knows, maybe for this new year! Hanna I hope you approve! Happy ‘first day of winter’ everyone!

Today I [heart] – Ice Queen

I blame it on the weather! It makes me appreciate all things warm, cuddly, and for some reason white. All of these pretty finds are definitely not Canada proof, but I so wish that they were. I think that blanket, hot tea, and watching cold sunrise from a frosted window would be perfect.

Today I [heart] – Organic Shapes

You know how you start searching for something but you’re not sure what it is yet, inspiration of a sort? I love that process, how it morphs out of nothing, into something you like, and then changes once again until it’s perfect. Today is all about that; the flow of thought, search for inspiration, and how it takes shape. Today I [heart] – Octopus & Squid

Fascinating, cute, slimy, delicious sea creatures… Always liked them… and kelp, aaand seaweed. Searched high and low for tentacle inspired pieces; most of it borders on tacky, but a few did make the cut. Loved the little door knobs and ‘ugly’ toys.  Art prints were gorgeous as always, hard to narrow them down to just one.

Today I [heart] – Letterpress and Robots

Sound of a shower, light through the blinds, warm blankets… Wake up! I opened my eyes realizing that it’s Monday and it’s time. Head is clear but not a single creative, artsy thought. Uh oh! I always have ideas for Monday posts, but today there was nothing… Slight panic set in, and I looked through my “inspiration” folder, NOTHING. Hmmmm… flipped through numerous notes scattered on the table. “Great… what am I going to [heart] today?” Thick heavy card in hand that I picked up at Nuit Blanche this weekend. I ran my fingers across it. Felt nice. “Letterpress. I love letterpress. What am I going to write?” Paper… letterpress… “I wish my cards were letterpress… “

And thats how today’s blog post was born, from being uninspired and loving letterpress. Nice heavy paper and luxurious print are things kept for special occasions. Letterpress and weddings is a traditional match up, but letterpress and robots is a fun loving couple. So robots it is! How cute are these? Completely original, inspirational, “I want to put it on my wall and send cards to all my friends” pieces.
