This sunny warm weather puts me in a fantastic mood, and I’m loving the colour. I think I’m over compensating for the lack of leaves, grass, and pretty flowers, but hey, a girl got to get her colour someplace! I also looooove window shopping, or in this case internet browsing, looking for nice things and imagining myself riding on that vespa wearing Club Monaco outfit with some awesome shoes and accessories! Man, that would be super bright! I’ll go take my happy, bouncy self outside to soak in some sun while it still lasts. Toodles Internet! Enjoy this awesome spring!

The calendar yet again flipped it’s page to another month, and February slipped away into the past. With the first day of March the weather suddenly improved and grey weeks with snow and rain turned into brilliance and warmth. This light puts me into a cottage mood, warm days by the lake, watching the sun slowly sink at the horizon, while sipping on lemonade. Long, gorgeous days! Can’t wait!

To pick up and leave and travel, wouldn’t it be nice? It doesn’t take much persuading to have me go see new places, experience different cultures, and do what I really enjoy. No need to ask me twice. Pack light, have a very sexy camera, and a bag to keep it all, that’s all I need.

The announcement of iPad from Apple got me thinking about the usability of such a product. After all the jokes about the name and the giant iPhone wanna be feel, it seems like iPad might be a perfect solution for people on the go, photographers, presenters, and grandmas! Yes, grandmas! Imagine how perfect it is for cute ladies who press all the buttons at the same time while checking their email, delete programs by mistake, and then say that they didn’t do anything. The learning curve on such products is minimal and the ability to mess things up is almost none existent! iPad definitely has it’s niche, but to satisfy all the complaints, Notion Ink’s Adam comes to the rescue! It has very impressive technology and specs, theoretically works better than Apple, but it’s not Apple! …and that might be a problem. I guess we’ll see how it’ll all play out this spring: better technology for the same money vs. reliability and appeal of Apple products.

Every time I have to transport my beloved shiny MacBook Pro I cringe at the thought of putting it into a laptop bag. Cause we all know that scratches and shiny metals don’t play well together! I’ve been searching high and low for a perfect case that combines style and usability, and did I ever find it! This handmade BookBook hardback leather case from Twelve South is simply amazing! It fuses my love for old vintage books and a smart design to hide my ‘lappy’ in. Now for the hard part of picking a colour!
Also,
Dear Santa, (Hey, what can I can say, I start my Christmas wish lists early)
I’d also like to have this black chair and a good photography book to go with my BookBook black case! Can’t forget the Horsy light either! I swear, I’ll be good this year!
Thanks!

I have a mini fascination with farms and life on a country side. I’d like to imagine that it’s a very relaxed, slow pace lifestyle without cell phones, internet, traffic, and general craziness of the city. Although, I’d be unable to survive on a farm without the internet… So, I’m imagining my farm with the internet! While I’m getting more into whole foods, organics, and watching all the chemicals consumed with food, farms come up more often. I’m turning into a modern day ‘hippie wanna-be’ and supporting local farmers and their hard work to produce good food! I think there are significant changes on the horizon from mass produced, tasteless, chemical filled greens and meats to healthier, better quietly ones. Come on Canada, you can do it! The inspiration for this post came from books on food, documentaries, and a new season of Project Runway : ). Potato sack cocktail dress anyone?

To start off the year fresh, I thought that recycled newspaper projects seem like a good idea. You know, make something new out of old? I adore the prints being made on the newspaper backgrounds. Very original and are always fun! Found a myriad of other interesting pieces that are sure to be conversation starters. Apparently designers still use newspaper print as inspiration and you can have that tote bag for $400. Go figure!

I must admit I have a mini obsession with plants. I just love them; their pretty, delicate leaves, fresh colour, and general cheerful look about them. When everything is snowy and white – more like grey and salty – I can’t help but to [heart] them even more. One can never have enough plants, not even when they take over the whole house, and overflow onto the balcony in the summer. When I grow up, I’m having a green house attached to the shoe box I’ll be living in! Hey, at least I’ll always have enough oxygen!

With all the Holiday parties, thought that a girl could use some colour and bling to brighten up these grey, snowy days. This one is for Hanna, she mentioned how she loves fuchsia and gold combinations, so I did my version of it. It’s way too many accessories for a single occasion, so I’d either go with the 7,4,11 or 10,2,8,5 combo. Can’t say that I have anything this bold in my closet, but who knows, maybe for this new year! Hanna I hope you approve! Happy ‘first day of winter’ everyone!

I blame it on the weather! It makes me appreciate all things warm, cuddly, and for some reason white. All of these pretty finds are definitely not Canada proof, but I so wish that they were. I think that blanket, hot tea, and watching cold sunrise from a frosted window would be perfect.
